Oh No – I forgot my blog’s birthday
I have been so busy with my studies at university in recent weeks that I completely forgot to celebrate this blog’s THIRD BIRTHDAY. (Sings merrily to himself. No one joins in. Looks around – no one else in the room. BIG SIGH)
This blog started on the 3rd September 2005.
It has been an interesting journey with many friends visiting on a regular basis. Many people have commented and there have been some interesting debates.
My special thanks to Sim’ my son who keeps it all ticking over nicely in the technological sense.
Just to celebrate, here is one of my favourite bird photos.
No one else in the room?
Boo! Surprise!
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday, dear Trevor’s birding blog
Happy birthday to yooooooouuuuu!
Is it too early for champagne?
Thanks Snail – I knew I could trust you to “come to the party!” We are having a party aren’t we?
I am of the opinion that anytime is too early for champers. Now a good red perhaps…or a well made cappuccino even…
Has the dust settled next door to you??
All settled and it looks as though some masked plovers are eyeing off the space.
With any luck the owner doesn’t have a builder lined up so there won’t be much action before the new year. I can live in hope.
Raises coffee mug
Cheers!
Thanks Snail (raises cup of tea in a return salute).
Masked Plovers could be just as much fun as having demolition crews and builders nearby. Noisy little critters, especially when nesting.
Very belated birthday wishes but here goes anyway!
Happy Bird-day to You

Happy Bird-day Dear Trevor’s Birding Blog
Happy Bird-day to YOOOOUUU!!!!!
🙂
And what a truly magnificent pic of the beautiful Scarlet Robin…well done if that’s one of your efforts Trevor!
Thanks Kasia – much appreciated.
I think you need your eyes tested too. It is a photo of a RED CAPPED ROBIN.
LOL
Further to my comment above – that photo I’ve printed out on A4 paper and framed – it has pride of place in our lounge room.
Any offers to buy??????
Hahaha dork alert! 😉 My eyes are fine for close up not so good for distance so…hmmm……
I came here after commenting on the Stateline programme
and was still caught up in seeing Scarlet Robins..that’ll
teach me to look properly before I start banging out my joy on the key board.
The R.C.Robin photo is simply gorgeous Trevor and I’d love to see it printed (eco ink) on organic cotton tea towels and greeting cards and maybe writing paper with envelopes all on recycled paper of course and a % of the money you receive could go to an environmental group! What do you think? 🙂 I’d purchase them all for sure.
Don’t worry – the thought has crossed my mind – and the environmental group would have to focus on saving birds.
Absolutely right on and I think you ought to look into
it.
I’m thinking…I’m thinking…
