Birding in Sri Lanka
I have never been birding in Sri Lanka but if I ever get the opportunity to go there, I will certainly take it.
In the meantime, I can still enjoy photos of the birds of that country by going to the birding blog of Amila Salgado. It’s called Gallicissa – a birder in an endemic hotspot. Amila has more than a passing interest in birds, he is also into bird photography, showing off many of his photos on his blog. As a bonus, he also features photos of frogs, insects and reptiles. It’s well worth a visit.

Bird Blogging Conference
I’ve heard quite a bit about conferences for bloggers but these have usually been for people who write blogs about blogging.
Now we have the First Bird Blogging Conference which is being organized by Sharon Stiteler on her blog called Birdchick.com. This sounds like being a great get together of birders who also blog on the north American continent. Pity it’s such a long way from Australia.
P.S. Anyone know where I can get a return air ticket from Australia for under $500???
Happy Birday Duncan
Someone who is a regular visitor and commenter here on my birding blog is Duncan from Ben Cruachan Blog. I must admit that I frequently check out his blog too. Duncan displays a very broad knowledge base and intense interest in all things of the natural world and his posts are always fascinating reading. His photographic skills are superb.
I really enjoyed his recent post called A birday and an Annibirdary. He has a superb shot of an Eastern Yellow Robin on this post.
Congratulations Duncan.
May you see many more “birdays” and many, many more birds.
